Textile and Woven Art - Greek Themes

A traditional Greek apron (podia), woven (loomed) and embroidered. Can anyone identify its regional origins or cast light on its symbolic patterns? I think it may be Thracian or Macedonian (Greece) or from the Thracian-Macedonian border area of Greece. Can messages concerning the intended wearer's age and status be decoded? The bright colours suggest youth.

A work by Theresa Nicholas, a resident of Corfu since 1961.
