I am posting a link to this article by Pankaj Mishra because it was sent to me by a Greek friend in Corfu. I am studying it with interest and thinking about the ways in which some of the observations may also apply to Greece and other countries. I haven't read the novels of Ahmet Hamdi Tanpinar. Here's a New York Times book review of The Time Regulation Institute. One for reading this summer.
