If you go tomorrow (Sunday 6 September), make sure you don't drive down the Esplanade to park behind the Pavilion. Leaving around 3pm today, the traffic gridlock was completely unacceptable. It took us an hour to get from the Pavilion to the statue of the King. If the police had been on hand to manage the traffic (and the timing of the lights), a lot of residents and visitors to Weymouth would have left in a happy state of mind, instead of mighty frustrated and primed for outbursts of road-rage. I would go back tomorrow, just for the fun and the street-food, and to catch the other acts and events - if the traffic could be properly managed. As it is - the Dorset County Show?
