Open Mic with Jamie Pinnow, The George, Dorchester; Skint Imperials and more

I enjoyed the Open Mic Session at The George, Trinity Street , Dorchester, on Sunday night.

Some fine musicians and singers: Jamie Pinnow and Skint Imperials (with Barbara Stanley and Nick Gorner), made the joint jump. with great drumming by Pete Austin.

I'll be back for more next Sunday evening, from 7pm. Check it out.

Elijah Wolf, from The Gravity Drive, hosted the Open Mic night on 20 September, Great Bridport-based singer/songwriter.

Elijah Wolf

Some amazing blues-guitar and singing from Big Al Whittle. His song "Trish" can be heard on the free CD with the new free Dorset music magazine "Headvibe" issue 5, September 2015. He does a fine interpretation of "Matchbox Blues" (based on the original Blind Lemon Jefferson song), as well as Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues". Here's his "Haiku Song"

Nick Ashron sang some lovely songs from his musical The Seven Winds.

Also pleased to meet Bob Kirkpatrick, who runs the Sunray Folk Club
