Corfu, Greece: Update on Garbage Dumping - ΤΑ ΠΑΡΑΠΟΝΑ ΣΟΥ ΣΤΟ ΔΗΜΑΡΧΟ- Κτήμα Merlin

I occasionally check in to the public Facebook group, ΤΑ ΠΑΡΑΠΟΝΑ ΣΟΥ ΣΤΟ ΔΗΜΑΡΧΟ!

I was disturbed to read this recent posting:

"ΕΧΩ ΠΛΗΡΟΦΟΡΙΕΣ ΟΤΙ ΕΣΤΙΑΤΟΡΕΣ ΑΠΟ ΝΗΣΑΚΙ Κ ΜΠΑΡΜΠΑΤΙ ΚΑΤΕΒΑΖΟΥΝ ΤΑ ΣΚΟΥΠΙΔΙΑ ΤΟΥΣ ΤΗ ΝΥΧΤΑ ΣΤΗ ΧΩΜΑΤΕΡΗ ΠΛΕΟΝ, ΤΟΥ ΜΕΡΛΙΝ ΣΤΗ ΔΑΣΙΑ!"

The writer reports that she 'has information' that some restaurant owners from Nisaki and Barbati allegedly take their garbage and waste during the night and dump it in the woods of the Merlin estate.

I have no idea if this rumour is true or false - but it needs investigating, firstly by the owners (two Greek banking institutions, see below) of the 581,000m² estate - and before you send your complaints to the mayor!

If it is true, Sidney Merlin would turn in his grave.
