Writers Abroad/ Travel Writers

The British Council produced an exhibition , Writers Abroad, back in 1992, and in 1994 I had the honour to introduce it in Sydney. I gave a talk on the history of travel writing and the influence of Greece on British authors.

I sometimes wonder if the modern Greek nation understands the extent of its influence on foreign writers, and whether it appreciates how many true and loyal friends it has overseas.
