Both contenders are playing down what this election's really about. Abbot's a sceptic on human caused climate change who last year won the leadership of his party against Malcolm Turnbull on just that issue. Turnbull and Gillard, though leaders of opposing parties, agreed on carbon emissions and the need to invest in renewable energy. This is the first general election in the world to revolve around public support for action to mitigate climate change.
ReplyDelete...and now - post election - it really gets interesting. Of a sudden some idiosyncratic characters are hurled from political obscurity, balancing the see-saw in a hung parliament
