Charmian Clift, George Johnston, Martin Johnston. Hydra, Kalymnos, Australia

Some books from my library.

Outside Australia, it's still hard to track down some rare, out-of-print works by Charmian Clift. It's puzzling, given the huge amount of interest created by "Half the Perfect World" and "A Theatre for Dreamers".

Polly Samson writes, in her acknowledgements (page 345):

"I am eternally grateful to Charmian Clift for opening my eyes to Hydra with the memoir Peel Me A Lotus...As I write, Charmian Clift's books are out of print and I thank in advance any publisher with the taste and resources to reissue them".

Hear, hear!
