From Chris King's Record Room, Over The Edge

Some truly extraordinary music from Chris's 78rpm collection - just like being there. Thanks Chris, especially for the dedication at the beginning of the second hour, in the introduction to Bukka White's masterpiece Fixin' to Die!

Over the Edge w/ Josh and Otto

Aired: Today, Apr. 20

Chris writes:

"I will be playing only 78 rpm discs from my collection. There will be pre-war blues from Mississippi and Tennessee, pre-war hillbilly string bands from Texas and Virginia, sublime Greek demotic music from Epirus, Macedonia, Peloponnese, and Asia Minor, rembetiko from Piraeus, unhinged music from Albania, Ukraine, Crete, Poland, Turkey, Spain and India. There will be a little something for all of my friends, straight from the 78 rpm turntable to you. Co-hosting the show is Richmond, Virginia's Otto Konrad who will be playing field recordings made in Europe by Alan Lomax in the 1950s".
