James Wood, "On Not Going Home", London Review of Books

I enjoyed much of this thoughtful piece of writing in The London Review of Books (20 February 2014)

On Not Going Home, by James Wood (who teaches literary criticism at Harvard) is the text of this year's first LRB Winter Lecture at the British Museum.

James Wood has lived in the USA for 18 years. He writes about England, and about his feelings of what it means to be an exile or expatriate, as well as the feelings of other writers about "home".
