BREXIT: Less than Two Months to Go? (Institute for Government) - or "A long delay"?

Brexit: two months to go, Joe Owen, Tim Durrant, Institute for Government, January 31, 2019 (pdf)

"This paper looks at the UK Government’s progress in preparing to leave the EU without a deal. It assesses the status of Brexit legislation and the practical preparations required for day one outside the EU".

Chief negotiator under fire after 'warning' of long delay to Brexit, The Telegraph

"The Prime Minister's chief Brexit negotiator has drawn anger after reportedly claiming MPs will be presented with a choice between Theresa May's deal or a lengthy delay. Oliver Robbins was overheard in a hotel bar by an ITV reporter telling colleagues that "in the end" Brussels will "probably just give us an extension" to Article 50. He suggested the Prime Minister will try to win support for her deal by warning MPs that if they fail to vote for it the delay to Brexit is likely to be a "long one".

A staged leak? No...just conveniently overheard by an ITV reporter in a Brussels hotel bar.
