It seems only a few years ago that I first saw Saturday Night and Sunday Morning (released October 1960) and Tom Jones (UK release June 1963), and that Albert Finney used to come to Corfu, where, in the 1960's, he rented the Villa Carrer in Sotiriotissa, about five miles south of Ipsos. Peter Bull, before buying his house in Lakka, Paxos, describes staying with the Finneys (Albert had married Anouk Aimee in May 1960) at the Villa Carrer, for Greek Easter, 1963 (see Peter Bull, It Isn't All Greek To Me, 1967).
