Hard Brexit, Danish Bacon: Hard Cheese! (The Least of Our Worries); Climate Change; Carbon Footprints

What will Brexit mean for our bacon? BBC News

"Switching to a plant-based diet can help fight climate change, UN experts have said. A major report on land use and climate change says the West's high consumption of meat and dairy produce is fuelling global warming.,,more people could be fed using less land if individuals cut down on eating meat".

I thought we had all been advised to stop eating processed meat (a cancer risk), and, if you eat three rashers of bacon, once or twice a week:

75g, equivalent to three bacon rashers, per serving. Over an entire year your consumption of pork is contributing 140kg to your annual greenhouse gas emissions.

Source, BBC Climate Change Food Calculator (What's your diet's carbon footprint?)

If you like cheese, and eat it from 3-5 times a week, eg 30g, enough to cover two crackers, per serving? Over an entire year your consumption of cheese is contributing 201kg to your annual greenhouse gas emissions. That's the equivalent of driving a regular petrol car 514 miles (827km).

IPCC Reports

I've certainly stopped bringing the bacon home.
