Swamp pop, swamp rock, swamp blues: loosely defined.

For a scholarly approach, there's a very good book: "Swamp Pop, Cajun and Creole Rhythm and Blues" by Shane K. Bernard. A documentary film of interest.

Trying to track down a 45 by Ben Terrell (he recorded several singles on the JIN label).

  1. " ... that Louisiana swamp pop sound!" you dont get away with that, far too authentic and bluesy. beats the 'smell of napalm in the morning' hands down. not much call to come up with that great line in gouvia. sly one, Potts
