Horae Ionicae: A Poem Descriptive of The Ionian Islands, Waller Rodwell Wright, 1809

One of my favourite books about the Ionian Islands and the adjacent coast (read online)

I'm lucky enough to have a first edition (1809).

Lord Byron on Waller Rodwell Wright ("author of a very beautiful poem"): from English Bards and Scotch Reviewers: a Satire.

Blest is the man who dare approach the bower
Where dwelt the Muses in their natal hour …
Wright, 'twas thy happy lot at once to view
Those shores of Glory, and to sing them too;
And sure no common muse inspired thy pen
To hail the land of gods and godlike men.
