Seamus Heaney and the music of what happens (Documentary Film, BBC)

Watch the film on BBC iPlayer while it's available

"Born into a farming family in rural Northern Ireland, Seamus Heaney became the finest poet of his generation and winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1995, but his career coincided with one of the bloodiest political upheavals of the 20th century, the Troubles in Northern Ireland. Six years after Heaney’s death in 2013, his wife Marie and his children talk about their family life and read some of the poems he wrote for them, and for the first time his four brothers remember their childhood and the shared experiences that inspired many of his finest poems".

BBC viewers turn TV off as Andrew Marr 'loses temper' in interview with Boris Johnson

Whatever party you support, whichever leader, TV channel or newspaper you trust, this was an appalling and unprofessional interview by Andrew Marr.

"BBC viewers erupted into criticism online as they accused host Andrew Marr of repeatedly cutting off Prime Minister Boris Johnson during a heated interview on Sunday".

It was strange, to say the least, to read John Crace in The Guardian, who seems to have been watching, or imagining, a different programme altogether.

Faversham's Magna Carta for Sale?

Our Magna Carta isn’t for sale . . . yet, insists Faversham town hall, The Times

Minister: I’ll stop Magna Carta being sold abroad. A 700-year-old copy of the charter could be sold by Faversham council to a foreign collector to raise funds for the town, The Sunday Times

"Nicky Morgan, the culture secretary, said she was “extremely concerned” about the possibility of the historic document being sold abroad and vowed to stop it leaving the UK. The document was presented to the barons of Faversham, Kent, in 1300. It is one of seven surviving editions of the charter of rights from that year".

Corfu: Emergency (Temporary) Rubbish Transfers to Kozani? «Σωθήκαμε» με την μεταφορά στη Κοζάνη»;
