Bob Dylan in Athens

Bob Dylan performs in Athens next Saturday, 29 May, at Terra Vibe in Malakasa.

It's the first European capital he's playing this time round.

An expression of confidence in the Greek economy?

He must know he's going to get paid.

In Athens with Van Morrison.

Bravo Bob! Has he got blood in his eyes?

Will he sing "Desolation Row", as in Japan?

The newspaper Eleftherotypia gave away "Modern Times" on Sunday.

Is that a sign of the changing times?

  1. Oh, Mr Grigg would just love that. Took him to see his hero at Bournemouth a few years ago. It was a bit weird, with Dylan singing familiar words to unfamiliar tunes. But an experience nonetheless. Off to Corfu next month and then flitting across to the hinterland beyond Sivota/Mourtos for a week. Any recommendations?

  2. I know what you mean about Dylan's concerts: sometimes amazing, sometimes deeply disappointing, depending on his mood and the venue. If you're in Sivota/Mourtos and if you have a car, I recommend a tour round some of the Zagori villages, Vitsa, Vradeto, Mikro Papingo, etc, or the Tsoumerka villages like Sirrako . It's difficult by bus. You could explore Ioannina. It depends on how long you want to be away from the sea. Or spend a week in Paxos? l
