Corfu, Greece: No More Funeral Notices on Poles and Trees; Τέλος η επικόλληση κηδειόχαρτων σε στύλους και δέντρα
An end to another tradition - from Corfu Post
A decision has been made "to protect the natural environment, promote the natural beauty and touristic interest and to enhance the image of the old town of Corfu".
Less visual pollution, perhaps, but the news of the deaths and funerals of friends and neighbours will be more difficult to distribute within the customary twenty-four period.
I doubt that UNESCO or the tourists will even notice. Will other types of poster and flyer announcing concerts, political gatherings and local festivals, also be banned?
