Hospital Community hospitals facing closure or redesignation: St Leonards, Dorset : Alderney, Dorset

Dorset 

Reconfiguration of 13 community hospitals with closure of three sites for “other purposes” at St Leonards, Alderney and Westhaven.

Some services to be withdrawn from community hospitals in Weymouth and Poole.

Paediatric services potentially shared with Somerset.

Very premature babies (born at 27-32 weeks) to no longer be cared for at Dorset County Hospital.

Overall reduction in number of beds from 1,810 to 1,570.
