International Media and Broadcasting; Designers
Some of the cover designs from my time as editor of Educational Broadcasting International. I still admire such talented designers.
I note your section on front covers during your time as editor of the EBI. In particular, I note the cover on Escher (29 September 2014 posting), with a picture titled ‘Hand with Reflecting Sphere’. I am a big Escher enthusiast, and I would like to know more on this issue. Is their an article on Escher for that month? If so, could you make it available to me? Also, could you tell me the exact bibliographic details? I can’t quite make out the volume number, month and year.
Thanks for your interest. It was the cover of Vol 11, No. 1, 1978, credited as "Hand with a reflecting globe" by Martin Escher. Reproduced by permission of Haags Gemeentemuseum, The Hague, Netherlands. There was no article on Escher, but several articles on visual perception and communicating with pictures, eg in Nepal, and a psychologist's view of pictures as a means of communication, by J. B. Deregowski. My personal copy is bound in a volume. I don't know if I have another copy in my archives. Jim
