Poundbury Developments: Dorset Cereals Sale; Relocation of School - for 600 Children; Relocation of Church
From the Dorset Echo:
Dorset Cereals
"Dorchester-based Dorset Cereals has been sold for a reported £50 million. The proposed change in ownership is not expected to affect the company's current manufacturing base in Poundbury".
School Relocation Plans
"As part of Dorset County Council’s programme to provide additional school places, Damers will also increase in size catering for 600 pupils–an increase of 150– from September 2016".
Church Relocation Plan
"THE DORCHESTER Community Church has welcomed plans to relocate from its town centre site to Poundbury.
The Duchy of Cornwall’s estate director for Poundbury Simon Conibear said the combined use of the hall would see ‘all parties benefit’.
He said: “It’s a very effective use of a building that can be used by the community outside school hours, which are quite limited, and by the church at weekends.
“By pooling resources they are obviously going to get a much larger facility from which all parties will benefit.”
