Prioritising the Cultural Legacy in Corfu

It's commendable and proper to celebrate the work of foreign artists and writers who were inspired by a few years' residence on Corfu (the Durrells, Albert Cohen, Edward Lear), but would it not be appropriate if the authorities and the movers and shakers gave an equal - or even higher- priority to preserving the legacy (and the houses) of their own artists and writers, like Gialinas, Theotokis, Aspioti?
