On Skyping the Offspring

Lovely article in The Guardian by my old friend Ian about learning to Skype with his daughter in New York.

This week I don't need to Skype as I'm here with my daughter and family in Washington DC.

But I can't wait to Skype my son in Bermuda. A new grandchild will be going home tomorrow.

Genetically-Modified Salmon

In Washington DC (with the shutdown having been timed to end to coincide with my arrival- Washington Zoo reopened yesterday), I'm looking forward to some good wholesome American cooking.

The first item I read in the Washington Post is about genetically-modified salmon.

Watch out for that and other imported GM fish.
